Air-Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Tips

What kind of bacon should you use to make air-fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus?

Here in the test kitchen, our favorite bacon brand is Nueske's—just ask our testing panel! Nueske's thick-cut strips are amazing all on their own, but for air-fried recipes a thinner-cut bacon is better for letting heat penetrate evenly to the asparagus.

How far up each spear should you trim asparagus?

It's simple to prepare asparagus. Let the stalk tell you how much to trim. Gently bend the asparagus. You’ll be able to feel where it wants to break. Snap off the stalk end as far down as it will easily break. If you don’t want to go one by one, you can also use a chef’s knife to slice off the tough, white-ish ends. Aim for about an inch, maybe a bit more.

How should you store air-fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus?

Like all kinds of air-fryer vegetable recipes, these will taste best fresh the day you make them, but you can store leftovers in a well-sealed container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. If you’re crunched for time, you can wrap the asparagus and set in the fridge a few hours before you’re ready to cook.
